A Part of Me Has Died
Today, I am in shock and mourning. The legend has decided to hang it up, and I was totally not expecting it. Brett Favre has been the Packer quarterback since I was 11 or 12 years old; I don't think I'll even know how to feel at the first 2008 Packer game without him. The game will never be the same again. To make it worse...I only got to the Packer/Bear game at Lambeau last year, which was TERRIBLE; AND...my poor little brother never got to a game to see Brett play. My dad was going to take him next year. Today is definitely a grim, dreary day across the state of Wisconsin. This may seem ridiculous to many, but you have to be a born & raised Packer fan to understand. You know how there are those moments of breaking news that are so impactful that you will always remember where you were when you heard about it? Well, this morning around 8:50am was definitely one of those moments for me. This is truly a sad day. I don't even have much recollection of the Packers before Brett Favre. But...we surely are thankful for the great years Brett gave us. We Packer fans have really been spoiled being able to count on Brett week after week after week for 17 seasons. He is the greatest quarterback to ever play the game!
FAREWELL, BRETT! :-(
