LITTLE GRID IRON MAN

So I'm a terrible blogger. Sorry. I'm just a busy person! I will try to post more often, but I can't guarantee anything. Since I haven't posted in forever...I thought it would be good to start again with my little brother! :) His first football season is over now, but it was definitely fun going to his games and seeing him totally get into it! The kid loves to tackle! When he was like 18 months old, he had a big Tigger stuffed animal that was about as tall as him, and he would set it up on the living room floor and run & tackle it! He would do that over and over! So...he was put on defense, but he occasionally played offense too. He did pretty well for his first season. He forced a few fumbles; recovered a few fumbles; sacked the quarterback several times; and got a few sweet open-field tackles to prevent touchdowns! It will be interesting to see what position he will eventually develop into. He really loves football. He still doesn't have the patience to sit through an entire Packer game on TV, but he checks in periodically from playing outside to see what the score is, and he does watch a few plays. It's so funny hearing him comment about the plays on TV. He actually knows what's going on in the games now since he's started playing himself. It was kind of sad/funny....my sister & I took my parents to the Packer/Bear game for their birthdays (yes...the Packers' ONLY loss so far; I can't even speak of it)! When we gave them the tickets, Jeffery thought he was going too; but when he found out that he wasn't going...he just cried & wailed! He was literally heart-broken! I really felt terrible, but if you ever check out the prices for Packer/Bear tickets at Lambeau Field...you'll know why he couldn't go.

So anyways...near the end of the season, of course I had to take some football "portraits" of him. I am still amazed that he actually cooperated with me. I told him the pictures were for dad's birthday, and it was a surprise, so I think that's why he was kind of into it. These were taken in mid-October at night (except for the 2nd to last one). It was pretty chilly out (it is Wisconsin after all); but it didn't seem to phase him. Of course he had been running around in the yard tackling my cousin & sister prior to the shoot. We bought the Nike wrist bands especially for the shoot. He was way excited about those, as he loves Nike. When he was like 4...my mom started noticing that his white socks had black streaks on them, so she asked him what he did to his socks. He told her that he was drawing Nike swishes on them (yes...with marker)! Anyways...these were a few of my favorites. My dad liked his birthday presents, as I got him a poster-size of the 1st shot and a storyboard of some of the others and a "magazine cover" of the 2nd to last shot. It's so funny. He thinks he has to like carry around big pictures with him to show people instead of just wallets! :) What can I say? He waited quite a long time to be able to go to "boy stuff." Oh! And I just have to mention that Jeffery got the great Ray Nitschke's number this year! We were all happy about that one!
